Mr. Muli Wu, born in 1960 in Haifeng, Guangdong, and currently residing in Huizhou, is a graduate of the first cohort of the Fine Arts Department at South China Normal University. He was mentored by renowned artists such as Lai Shaoqi, Huang Yun, and Luo Jingquan. Mr. Wu has lived in Singapore for many years and held several exhibitions there. He is a specially appointed artist by the Ministry of Culture in China, the consultant for the Singapore Miao Hua Chinese Art Society, and the lead artist of Dynasties Art Gallery.
His work has been widely recognized, being described by The New York Times as an outstanding Chinese artist and by Singapore’s Lianhe Zaobao as the “King of Ships” in China. He has received several awards, including “Outstanding Contributor to Arts in Guangdong,” “Outstanding Chinese Artist in the World,” and the Ministry of Culture’s “Artist with Moral and Artistic Excellence.”
吴木离,1960年出生于广东海丰县城,现居惠州。他是华南师范大学美术系首届本科毕业生,获得文学学士学位,并师从赖少其、黄云、罗镜泉等名家。吴木离旅居新加坡多年,并在新加坡举办过多次画展。他现为国家文化部特聘画家、新加坡妙华艺术家协会中国区水墨画顾问、新加坡宣和文物中国画首席画家。
吴木离的作品在国际上获得广泛赞誉,被《纽约时报》誉为中国杰出艺术家,并被新加坡《联合早报》称为大陆“船王”。他曾获得“广东省群众艺术突出贡献者”、“世界华人杰出艺术家”、以及文化部“德艺双馨艺术家”等荣誉称号。
