About Us

The Founder

The art gallery founder, Mr Johnny Yu, after spending 21 years in a managerial position in a Multi-National Company (MNC), with his rich life experiences, his fondness of artefacts and art collection, began this art curating interest with his wife (Chiang Yit Cheng), who shared the same interest. Since 1990, both of them started Dynasties Antique & Art Gallery 30 years ago. To-date, they have organised more than 400 art exhibitions locally and overseas. Fulfilling the dreams of art lovers and collectors locally, China and other nations too.

画廊东主俞精忠在跨国公司当了21年经理后，累积了较丰富人生履历，期间也培养他喜爱文物古玩，书画等兴趣。在1990年开始和有同样爱好的妻子郑月清创办了宣和文物，至今已三十年了。期间，主办了400多场书画艺术展览活动成就无数本地、中国和其它国家们的艺术梦，也圆了无数艺术爱好者的收藏梦。

Our History

Over the years, Dynasties Antique & Art Gallery has collected more than 10,000 pieces of various artworks of artists of various nations: Singapore’s 2000, India’s 1000, China-Hong Kong-Taiwan’s 7000 and other’s 300. Of these 10,000 pieces, most are available for sales, except about 100 pieces for legacy collection.

至今，宣和文物已购存了约10000件各类书画原作，包括本地画家作品2000件、印度1000件、中港台7000件以及其它国家300多件。除了百件馆藏品外，其它可供出售。

Our Mission

Promote arts & organize more art exhibitions to elevate our people’s knowledge on arts and inject more quality to life.

It has been our social mission to give back to the society; to engage in charity involvements and collaborate with organizations, individual needs whenever necessary. We have collected funds of more than $200,000 for Jiangshan (China) District School Preparation works. Every year, we will hold two charity events to raise funds and to give out 50 pieces of artwork back to the society. Cultural Relics is part of an artist and art collector’s bridge of connection. You can be assured that you will obtain the most satisfaction and value from our artwork.

取之社会，用之社会，历年为公益团体、慈善机构、个别困境需求，贵州省从江县山区筹建学校等共出资和筹得20多万元。每年预留二次慈善活动，各捐赠50件作品为基础。

What We Do

Dynasties Antique & Art Gallery serves as a bridge between artists and collectors, where collectors are able to find artworks that meet their standards and expectations at the most reasonable prices. We provide the acquisition of fine art, consignments, trading of artworks, organising art exhibitions, framing and art restoration services for our customers.

宣和文物是艺术家和收藏家之间可靠的桥梁。收藏家得到了最满意的作品和最实惠的价格，增进交谊，并与艺术家促进交流。我们为客户提供收藏建议、代理、买卖书画作品和策划书画展览活动，并提供裱画、配框和修复作品服务。

I have known Dynasties Antique and Art Gallery and its owner, Mr Johnny Yu for almost 30 years. It started with a chance visit to an art exhibition organised by his art gallery at Orchard. I was attracted by the Chinese paintings on display and continued to visit his art exhibitions thereafter. I noticed that Johnny has vast knowledge in Chinese paintings and is well connected with many well-known artists from China. A few years later, I bought my first house and decided to buy some paintings for decoration. I approached Johnny for help. Johnny has always been friendly, trustworthy and professional. Dynasties Antique & Art Gallery had organized many art exhibitions for the past 30 years, to promote Singapore and International Artists. The Federal Art Society Singapore (FASS) used to join venture with them as co-organizer. 宣和文物是本地一家经营、策展和收藏艺术品的机构。该机构自1990年成立以来，承办过国内外美展达400多场。其中包括与中国浙江嘉兴博物馆合作举办的新加坡名家沈雁作品展；于印尼雅加达香格里拉大酒店举办的百幅中新书画精品展；在美国三藩市和洛杉矶两地举办为期一个月的巡回展（展出刘抗、吴在炎、何和应、程十发、启功、陆严少、谢稚柳等百幅名家书画作品）。在本地策划和主办的美术展包括刘抗、林子平、朱庆光、翁锡礼、陈初电、欧阳兴义等。宣和文物营业至今已31年，收藏书画作品近万幅。宣和文物的总经理俞精忠先生亦是一位古道热肠的艺术经纪人。据笔者所悉，本地画家当中，受其资助和帮助者不乏其人，其中还包括印度族画家M.Suriyamoothy和马来西亚画家张嘉民等。就拿近期的“新加坡美术名家荣誉邀请展”来说，俞精忠先生从笔者口中得知画展经费不足，随即慷慨解囊，予以资助。宣和文物也热心公益，曾联合新加坡美术总会，两次为圣路加医院、公益金、全国肾脏基金会共筹得20多万元善款。以上是笔者与该机构接触多年来的所见所闻。笔者认为：宣和文物是本地为数不多，能与画家形成良性互动的艺术经营者，它为推动和繁荣本地的文化艺术，真诚地奉献了自己的一份心力。

I am a Singaporean at heart although I have been residing elsewhere for a large part of my life.. Having works of Singaporean artists helps me to maintain my heritage and reminds me of my roots. My very first piece was an ink painting of a fishing village by Cheong Soo Pieng that I bought 23 years ago. Over the years, each time I go back home, I will always pop to visit my aunt Grace and uncle Johnny gallery to see if there are any interesting pieces. I simply love going to their gallery and seeing all the works by local artists. Over the years, I collected one Liu Kang, a couple of Aw Tee Hong. It has been such a pleasure to see them growing to a successful art business and giving back to society through their support of NKF and many schools. I wish them continuous success as a key supporter of the local art scene and many years of good health.
